'My Moon Landing' was Peter Hennessey's first solo exhibition at Tolarno Galleries. The show continues his exploration of the physicality, presences and symbolic power of the inaccessible objects that derive from the 'space race'.
The show features a number of new sculptures, including 'My Lunar Rover', 'My Sputnik 2' and 'My Mission Control'. 'My Mission Control' represents and new twist in the artist's practice, introducing performance into his processes. This takes the form of 'My Moonwalk', where the artist has constructed a crude 'moonwalk simulator' that he uses to reproduce both the image and the experience of this highly evocative activity.
